Cold/Sinus

Blah blah blah. So, over the last week I’ve had a terrible cold therefore, there were NO workouts. On the bright side, I felt so crappy that I barely ate anything as well. Lost over 2lbs but I guess that’s to be expected when the only food that entered my body was homemade chicken soup. I added barley to it so at least I got some fiber as well. Don’t think I’lll be doing any major exercising for a few more days either. My body is still so sore.

I saw something on The View called the F factor diet or something. I’m NOT going to get the book or anything but I do think I’ll try and increase my fiber content. Usually in the morning I make Fruit smoothies with added flax meal or I have a bowl of Costco brand Flax fiber cereal. Think for a snack in the evening (before 7pm) I’ll have that as well.

This dry cough is driving me crazy! Another cup of green tea awaits in the micro. Take care all and stay healthy!

Back where we started

Well, here we are. Disappointed but never defeated. Back where I started. Want to hear the excuses? Bad reaction to flu shot back in December so I couldn’t/didn’t do anything regarding exercise. And then of course, there were the left over holiday treats that just COULDN’T be thrown away! That would be wasteful right? Yes, I know. So, I’m here drinking my lemon/water and after I get off the computer I’m going to get my jump rope and do that for 10 minutes. Vaulted ceilings not only look good, they allow for skipping as an added bonus! At least my weird way of looking at things hasn’t been dampered by the winter blahs.

Arg!

Well, not sure if it was the Baileys or the xmas goodies, but an extra 5 pounds has ‘appeared’ on my scale. I’m not getting stressed about it though, this is what the month of January is for! I know I talked A LOT about introducing weights but just never found the motivation. I have NOW found my motivation! I am even going to make a menu that will be easy and quick to follow. This way, I figure if I lay it all out, I’ll be more apt to follow through.

Exercise Bike

So, took the weekend off again, like usual. I don’t beat myself up for that anymore. I found that my routine is monday through friday and if I get around to it, the weekends. However, monday came, and went, then tuesday came and went. It’s wednesday and I’ve FINALLY got in some exercise! I really didn’t want too, but once I started I made out mini goals, (like at first 15 minutes, and when I did that, I told myself another 10 minutes ect.) I ended up on the bike for 50 minutes and went 12 kilometers! Tonight I’ll try the elliptical for 30 minutes. Don’t think I’ll have the energy for the fat burning program but we’ll see. I can always adjust the resistance.

Teenager in the house

Well, yesterday morning was great but by lunch when my kid came home…..Lets just say….DAM! After school wasn’t much better. Of course, I ate, and not anything healthy. However, by evening it finally registered what I had done, so I got on the elliptical for 30 minutes. I was really surprised to find that I felt a lot calmer when I was done. I slept like a baby last night as well! Bonus! Now, if only I can remember this and every time the kid has one of those days, I need to exercise. Who knows, with hormones the way they are, I could actually be at my goal by the end of November, not just my mini goal! You know, even though no one is home right now, I think I’ll get in some exercise while watching the football game! Have a great halloween everyone!

Still Moving

Well, I’ve come to the conclusion that weekends are a bust when it comes to exercise. Monday to Friday I have a schedule, but come the weekends, well, who knows. And since there is no schedule, there is no motivation. I have stayed away from junk food though, so thats a good thing. I consider my small dish of nachos a treat. No guilt when I have those, therefore, I’m sure thats why I don’t pig out on them. My kid laughed at me last night when I got on the bike after eating nachos. Whatever, like I told him. At least I’m moving and not pigging out.

I’m up to 6.5 miles on the elliptical and 8.7 miles on bike. It’s funny that I’m way more tired after the elliptical even though I don’t go as far. I guess it’s a harder workout in a shorter time. (30 min on elliptical, 1 hr on bike) I read another blog that had the girl going 45 min on elliptical. So, thats my goal. I find I get dizzy after 30 minutes, so maybe I just need to pick an easier program. Well, the carpets await my attention so I better log off. Happy Wednesday to everyone!

EEE thanksgiving setback

O.K. I kept control of how much food and what kind of food I ate over the holiday. However, the apple pie and pumpkin pie were more than I could refuse. I ONLY had a small piece of each, but, combined with the lack of exercise this weekend, it seems I slipped up big time. I’m back on the horse again though. Did almost an hour on the bike while watching tv and had a salad for lunch. Oh, I also shoveled the driveway, heavy wet snow. Gotta love winter! Tonight, after reading a previous blog, I’ve decided to get on the elliptical as well. Don’t know if I’ll do my 6 miles, but I will get in some time!

exercise bike

Just finished 4.5 miles on bike. Too achy to do elliptical, I needed to sit. Spent the day in town so I figure I put in a few more miles with all that walking. Not to mention, all that time standing in lines. Standing up does burn more calories than sitting so I shouldn’t complain. I think I have some kind of flu or something. My body is killing me! I’m glad for doing the bike. Been a while since I did that. Why do they make those seats so big and uncomfortable? Hubby said a couple years ago that he was going to try and modify a new seat on the thing. Hasn’t happened yet. That’s why I don’t use the bike that often. So, anyone getting exercise equipment, make sure it’s comfortable! Well, time for a cup of tea and then cuddles the cats. Night all!

Taking a day off

Well, today, or should I say this morning at 3:36 the darn cat woke me up and decided it was play time. Needless to say I am dead tired today. No exercise this morning, which was becoming routine for me. Had a handful of chips as well, which is odd for me. Maybe my body was craving salt or something. The kid gets home in 30 minutes so I think I’ll head to the weight machine and maybe do some leg work. Don’t think I have the energy to do anything with my arms! I’ll get in (must type this so I do it, lol) 10-15 minutes. Hopefully this evening I’ll feel better and give the bike a whirl. It’s not the end of the world I know. I’m doing fine. With a 2 pound loss already it shows I’m taking this seriously. Time for some green tea and deep breathing.

Yah for me!

Well, I ended up doing 6 miles on elliptical! I guess writing things down really does help. Monday I did 6 again plus another 2 in the evening. today I only had the energy for 5. Tonight I hope to get in another 2 or 3. I should add in a little time on the bike as well. I hate that seat though! This weekend I’ll tidy the basement a little so access to the weight machine won’t be so daunting. I stepped on the scale today, no real loss to mention but I do feel more energetic. Considering I started out the month going 2 miles and now I’m at 6, well, I’m happy.
